The individual in this position will ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. The individual will also assist with managing the computer network.

Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups and configuring systems and applications.
Maintains and implements software and operating system patches and updates.
Performs contributory role in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and implementation.
Assists in the support of enterprise services, including policy enforcement, regulatory compliance, network efficacy and security initiatives.
- Informs supervisor of difficulties, system problems, etc., and makes appropriate office-wide announcements as directed
- Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of or familiar with Windows client/server network service support and administration.
Knowledge of the principles of virtualization technologies.
Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks and related hardware and software.
Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.
Requires ability to meet physical demands such as hauling, lifting, moving and installing computer equipment which could weigh up to 50lbs.; ability to maneuver into small work stations to install equipment and perform other physical demands required of the job.
Ability to serve as a productive team member and the ability to demonstrate a professional and positive attitude while establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with MCHCP management and staff; health plan representatives, and the general public.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all MCHCP information and records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable laws and regulations.
Ability to quickly adapt to changes in the highly dynamic field of managed health care.
Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures; and ability to prioritize, organize and perform work independently and under pressure.
Ability to project a professional image through oral and written communication and appearance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major specialization in computer science, business administration or closely related field preferred; industry experience and current industry knowledge preferred. Technical and professional experience in the field of computer science may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the education.
